This week, my parents and Brianne came to visit us. They got here on Friday (June 6th) and they stayed until Thursday morning (June 12th). It was the perfect week! We had so much fun and we were able to explore a lot of Albuquerque while they were here. It was not fun to say goodbye! :( I wish they could have stayed the rest of the summer. I'm so glad they were able to stay as long as they did, though!
Before they arrived, Kent had his interview at Edward's on Monday. He was pretty excited about his visit and took some awesome pictures.
Kent flew home on Monday night, and worked the rest of the week. On Friday, we went to Tingley Beach while we were waiting for my family to get here. It was a cute little fishing pond with plenty of loud geese and cute, baby ducks.
My Mom, Dad, and Brianne got here on Friday night and we just got to hang out with them in their room and chat. On Saturday, Kent didn't have to work, so we had all day to spend together with my family. We started off the day by going to Petroglyph National Monument. We walked along the Piedras Marcadas Canyon trail. The petroglyphs are 400-700 years old and were left by Native Americans and Spanish settlers. It was really cool! (and really hot!!) :)

After the petroglyphs, we went to The National Museum of Nuclear Science and History. It was really interesting and awesome. I love any and all museums in this world, so I was really excited. And Kent was obviously just in heaven. We all really enjoyed it and learned a lot.

On Sunday, we went to Sacrament meeting and then drove to the temple and walked around for a while. It was a beautiful oasis (literally).

On Monday, it was back to work for Kent and to the Albuquerque Zoo for the rest of us! I was hoping I would get to see the aquarium (where I will be volunteering) but it ended up being a completely different location than the zoo...and closed on Mondays! So I will just have to wait to see it, on Saturday. But the zoo was awesome! My favorite part was probably the apes, specifically the orangutans. (Especially the crazy-hair baby!) I loved the zoo!!

After the zoo, we met Kent back at the hotel, and then went mini-golfing!
On Tuesday, we rode the train to Santa Fe! (Poor Kenty had to work again) We did a lot of shopping and we saw the Loretto Chapel and San Miguel's Mission built in 1610.

At 4:00, we headed back to Albuquerque to get Kent and head to the Isotopes game!
On Wednesday, we went to Old Town in Albuquerque for some more shopping. We ate at a cute little Mexican restaurant called Church Street Cafe.
Then we went back to the hotel to meet Kent and he took us onto the base for a little tour! It was really cool to see where he works!

On Thursday, we ate breakfast all together and then my parents and Brianne headed back to Utah. :( It was so great to have them here and we got to do so many fun things! We hadn't really had a chance to explore much yet, so it was fun to have them with us to all explore together! I wish they could come back next week!
We are getting really excited for our new adventure coming in August. We can hardly believe we're going to get to live in California, just a couple hours from the ocean! It's our dream come true! We are both over the moon (aerospace pun!) ;) It's going to be really hard to live so far from all our family, though. That is something I am already trying to prepare myself for. I know it will be a bit of a struggle, but knowing Kent gets to have a job he loves and has worked so hard for, is the best feeling and makes it more than worth it!
